It takes unwavering confidence to have a resolute heart!
Everyone likes to hear a good story. It is so much more affective to teach something through the mode of a story. Jesus did it over and over through out his life as he taught tough things to people who needed to make a change. The best stories are the kind where the odds seem to be stacked against the main character and then there is this big but in the middle of the story where everything changes. Now the main character has confidence and pushes harder than they ever had before. There is a big butt in our reading today. If you have been changed by Jesus you have had a “but” in your story. You were without hope, guidance, and direction in your life but you found Jesus and so many things changed. Be encouraged today! Find your confidence in these words found in Titus 3:4-8.
“4 But—“When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, 5 he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.[a] 6 He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. 7 Because of his grace he declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.” 8 This is a trustworthy saying, and I want you to insist on these teachings so that all who trust in God will devote themselves to doing good. These teachings are good and beneficial for everyone.”
