Being healthy resources us to move forward.

For a lot my life I have lived by a scale. I lived with the misconception that if I just did enough good things they would out weigh my bad choices. This is the basis of most religions. If I pray enough and go to church enough God will forgive me. If I occasionally throw some money in the plate to pay up my sin account then I will be forgiven. For so many people this way of life is a road block to following Jesus. If you have a sin account that has been maxed out for years how will I ever pay that off. This is why we should NOT learn what we believe about God from Kenny Chesney songs.

We just celebrated Easter and the whole reason Jesus died on the cross, was barred in a tomb and came back to life is because you will never be good enough. On your own you will never earn a spot in Heaven. Who do you think is doing the most good in the world right now? No matter what that person is doing if they have not confessed Jesus as the king of their life they will not have a place in Heaven. You will never be good enough to earn the favor of God. The only way to heaven is by following Jesus. The only way to find forgiveness is in following Jesus. I hope you will read these passages and let God speak to you through them.

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.”

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

“As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one.”No one can earn right standing with God.

“For the wages of sin is death.”

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
