The future will either guide you or distract you.
Are you easily distracted? Do your friends ever jingle their keys in front of your face to get your attention? No? Oh…me neither. It’s very easy to get distracted from the life God has for us. There are so many things that are vying for our attention and it is hard to stay focused. Sometimes it feels like a battle. Well guess what? It is. You may not be able to see the battle but there is a war raging on to keep you from staying focused and living for God
Distraction is one of the primary tactics satan uses to keep us caught up in our future. When we are distracted by our future we doubt. We doubt ourselves. We doubt our friends and family. We doubt God. All because we are distracted from the truth. We start making up stories of what could be and telling ourselves lies. These lies cause us fear and anxiety. And all the while life is spinning right past us as we are distracted by things that never happened.
Living distracted keeps you from ever experiencing momentum in your life. Are you distracted today? Don’t let this cycle keep you from experiencing life to the fullest. When Jesus died on the cross, he came to free us. To free us from sin and death. Don’t live your life chained up by distractions.
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. – 1 Peter 5:8
