Are you upside down?
What is something you would consider a treasure? Something you treasure. Chances are, it’s something tangible. A physical possession. Jesus once talked about treasures, and said some things that might seem a little upside down to us. He taught that God cares way more about our hearts than he does our actions. He taught that what we do in this life matters for the life to come. Every time I read Matthew 6:19-21, I am reminded that this life is temporary and that as I am following Jesus I should only treasure things that will last.
“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. – Matthew 6:19-21
Are you trying to store up treasures for this life or are you building for the life to come? Where is your treasure? What is the real desire of your heart?
