This week’s posts are all centered around a common idea – living thankful. Not just being thankful inside, but letting it show on the outside. It’s easy to post something nice on social media or be thankful in our hearts, but I hope you will be motivated this week to take action with your thankfulness. Each day, I will encourage you to do something to show your thankfulness, and I would love to hear what you have done to show it! Use the hashtag #upsidedown to share!
If you are living right side up in this upside down world, you have found Jesus! He loved you so much that He would humble himself to come to Earth to feel full force of sin we feel and suffered a brutal death on a cross to take away our sins. Here is how Paul describes it in the Bible.
You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
Though he was God,
he did not think of equality with God
as something to cling to.
Instead, he gave up his divine privileges;
he took the humble position of a slave
and was born as a human being.
When he appeared in human form,
he humbled himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal’s death on a cross.
Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor
and gave him the name above all other names,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father. – Philippians 2:5-11
As an act of thankfulness for what Jesus has done for you, tell someone that Jesus is your Lord today. Really, go tell them! If you are truly following Jesus, you should show your thankfulness by telling people about Jesus. Take a step and show Jesus you are thankful by sharing His love with someone. It could be looking someone in the eye and saying, Jesus loves you. Or sharing your faith story with them. Whatever the circumstances, let someone know today that Jesus is your Lord.
